Abnormal Psych Project Info…

abnormal

Hi guys,

Hope you all are having a great spring break! I wanted to post some information that should help you complete different aspects of the Abnormal Psychology project. Reminder – this project is due on Wednesday, April 15th. The paper portion will be turned in at the beginning of class on Wednesday, already stapled or paper clipped (no exceptions). The creative portion, covering a central theme of your book, will be presented in class on Wednesday (3-4 minutes).

Reaction Paper Specifics (100 points)

* A title page consisting of the title of the book, title of your reaction paper, your name, class period, and date

* 3-4 pages (double spaced) of the reaction portion of the paper…

*The reaction paper should include the following – 1) formal introduction of the book, 2) brief summary of the book, 3) your reaction to the material read – did you agree/disagree, did you like/dislike, what would you change if you were the author, 4) integration of concepts from the text/class – what did it talk about/mention that we have learned in class this year, 5) a formal conclusion…

* Times New Roman/12 point font…you have already given a title page, so your paper needs to start at the top of the first page – NO INDENT/SPACING 1/4 of the way down the page!

* If you are citing something from your novel, please use this simple format – (author’s last name, page number). For example, (Yalow, 137) would be at the end of the sentence/passage you are citing.

Creative Piece Specifics (50 points)

* This piece of the project needs to be creative in nature – a piece of artwork that is created, a poem that is created and read aloud, a piece of music created and performed in class, an interview that is recorded and shown in class, a\ diagram or model that is built and discussed…you can bring your creative piece of the project to my classroom before 1st period if you need.

* You will be discussing the following:

1) theme from the book you chose, 2) a compelling quote from the book that supports your theme, 3) a brief take- away from the project…
